Vietnam’s National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) said Tropical Storm Etau is expected to cause severe weather and disruptions from 10 November in Central and Southern provinces. The Tropical Storm is expected to make landfall in the morning of 10 November between Ninh Thuan and Binh Dinh provinces.
Once it has made landfall, Etau is expected to weaken and continue westward towards Cambodia, where heavy weather is expected in the eastern provinces over the next few days.
In Vietnam, severe weather is expected until at least 12 November in the provinces of Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai. Floods and landslides cannot be ruled out in the areas mentioned.
It is advisable to follow the latest developments on the NCHMF website and any instructions issued by local authorities.
