The Philippine National Police announced 14 November that the death toll has climbed to 53 and that 22 people are still missing following flooding and landslides caused by the passage of Typhoon Ulysses, particularly in the provinces of Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela (see our previous alerts).
According to the same source, the toll is likely to rise as rescuers continue to search for the missing.
The typhoon is expected to make landfall 15 November in parts of central Vietnam. Ulysses should affect the provinces of Thua Thiên-Huê, Quang Nam, Quang Binh and Quang Ngai.
According to media sources, more than 65,890 people were evacuated in Thua Thiên-Huê province.
We recommend monitoring the local news and possible instructions from the authorities. Travel disruption should be expected.
