According to medical sources, at least 50 people have died in Enugu State and 22 others in Delta State due to contaminations with the yellow fever virus.

In a statement issued 7 November, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the sudden spike in cases and deaths in some communities in both States. The NCDC also announced that health authorities will be deployed to fight this sudden increasing cases.

We remind you that yellow fever is a viral hemorrhagic disease transmitted through mosquito bites and which has no specific treatment. Vaccination is strongly recommended as a preventive measure for travelers to endemic countries.

It is advisable to adopt all preventive measures to protect against mosquito bites.
