According to local sources, at least 20 people were killed 2 November during attacks led by alleged terrorists against 11 villages of the district of Muidumbe.

15 teenagers were beheaded.

The murders were claimed by the organisation Islamic State (IS) via its news agency Amaq. Terrorists indicated that they had ‘seized several villages, captured soldiers and seized arms and ammunitions’.

The local authorities did not confirm these attacks.

We remind you that attacks, attributed to a local jihadist group called ‘Al Chabab’ are frequently made in the Cabo Delgado province. They usually target isolated villages and State symbols, such as police checkpoints and administrations and made more than 900 dead including civilians since the end of 2017 (see our previous alerts).
