Several opposition parties have called for demonstrations to be held in the coming days in protest against the victory of the ruling Georgian Dream party in the legislative elections held 31 October. We remind you that the party obtained a large majority with 48.15% of the vote, against 30.92% for the opposition coalition, the United National Movement (UNM).

The Alliance of Patriots of Georgia (APG) has called for a demonstration to be held on Tbilisi’s Freedom Square from 17:00 local time 7 November.

Other rallies have been staged over the last few hours and could continue in the days to come.

It is advisable to keep well away from such gatherings in view of the risk of clashes between rival supporters, or in the event of police intervention.
