DRC – North Kivu: bodies discovered in Virunga National Park and an attack in Kokola – At least 35 dead

17 November, the authorities announced that 29 bodies had been found in Kavuruyi, in Virunga National Park 16 November, after being “executed en masse” on an undisclosed date.

In addition, at least 6 civilians were killed and another was injured in an attack on the village of Kokola 17 November.

According to the same sources, the victims were in all likelihood killed by members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

We remind you that at least 811 civilians have been killed since 31 October 2019 in Beni Terrtiroy, where the ADF have stepped up their attacks on civilians.

Ongoing violence should be expected.
