CHILE – Atacama region: Magnitude 5.0 earthquake west northwest of Vallenar – New aftershocks not to be ruled out

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has reported that a magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred 16 November at 17:18 (local time) at 36 km west northwest of Vallenar.

The hypocenter of the earthquake was measured at a depth of 44.1 km.

New aftershocks are to be expected.
